PROJECT: Di Mark's Pizza | Molito Lifestyle Center Alabang

A Piece of Pizza History

    A new location for an iconic brand presents new challenges, especially when trying to introduce a new look that still pays homage to its roots. The brief was simple, to introduce the DiMark’s brand to a new generation of diners, and share with them a piece of pizza history. That being said, we were called to infuse the industrial-styled DNA of existing locations, as well as its storied past into Di Mark's new home in Molito, Alabang.

     Just beyond the brass and wood sign, an original from one of their old locations, guests are first greeted by a customized collage of the family-owned restaurant's colorful past. Witness to a large feature wall above, the collage showcases a long history of old stories through a reverie of photos of the original owners and even their first branch. 

   Vintage items were dusted off and given the job of sharing these stories. High up on the wall is one of the family’s classic tables bearing the DiMark's logo, now used as an art piece. Their traditional pizza-back chairs were refurbished with black leather seats to once again line the aisles of the restaurant. Snippets of the early days hang on the walls, from photos of the restaurant’s first location to copies of their earlier menus. 

    We used the brand's signature use of red as our main accent color. This red accent beautifully highlights certain elements of the restaurant such as the cashier counter, the checkered wall tiles, especially the words "A Piece of Pizza History" in wood-block letters. In contrast, the general palette is thoughtfully kept earthy and neutral with stuccoed gray walls, plenty of wood elements and red bricks as accents. Numerous memorabilia are celebrated in every corner to create a cozy and warm atmosphere. 

    It is the client's wish that everywhere you look, a piece of the past comes back to life. Combining elements and stories from the past with a few modern twists allows us to achieve just that. The result is a cozy family restaurant, serving signature recipes, that we hope both old patrons and newcomers may truly enjoy.
